Gir Interpretation Zone is known as Devalia Park, the establishment of particular eco-tourism zone to reduce overload of tourists from Gir Forest Visit and to provide whole wildlife of Gir at single place in safe habitats. The basic aim of creating this facility is to provide an opportunity of viewing lions and other animals in their natural habitat within a short period of time at cheaper rates. There are animals like Asiatic lions, Leopards, Blue Bull, Sambhar, Chital, Jackal, Black buck, Wild Boar etc. The presence of Savana habitat and other flora is also another attraction of the area. Many rare birds including Peafowl and vultures are common in the Devalia. A bus takes visitors on a 30-40 minute tour of it.

Gir Interpretation Zone, also known as Devalia Safari Park, 12 kilometers west of the village, at Devalia.

HOW TO GET THERE

Devalia Safari Park is around 56 km from Junagadh and around 13 kms from Sasan Gir village, the most common base for making a visit, 374 km from Ahmedabad and 158 Kms from Rajkot.

OPENING HOURS

The Gir Interpretation Zone is open Thursday to Tuesday (closed Wednesday), 8.00 a.m. until 11 a.m., and 3.00 p.m. until 5.00pm.

Entry Fees and Charges

The fee for the Gir Interpretation Zone (Devalia Safari Park) is as follows:

Monday to Friday: 150 rupees for Indians and 2,400 rupees for foreigners.
Saturday and Sunday: 190 rupees for Indians and 3,000 rupees for foreigners.
Festival Days: 190 rupees for Indians on Monday to Friday, and 240 rupees for Indians on Saturday and Sunday. 3,000 rupees for foreigners on Monday to Friday, and 3,750 rupees for foreigners on Saturday and Sunday.
